Shadow Box Foto Folio

Yah!  It's my favorite time of year again - FALL!  This year has just flown by.  I've been focusing on my photography skills and business more this year, and been quite involved with a musical theater lately, so I haven't been doing much paper crafting.  However, I was so excited to pull out the Halloween décor, and find this project again :)  It was a popular one last year, so I thought I'd share it again.
This is a foto folio project that doubles as a home décor piece.  My kids love to get it down and look at the memories hidden within, EVERY YEAR!  It doesn't just sit on a shelf and collect dust  - it is well loved.  Even when company comes they ask about it and enjoy the quick look through (now that is a successful project :)
The pattern for this project is on sale on my website right now (here is the link to the pattern).  And here is the 'how to' you tube video that accompanies the project

Happy Halloween!

Gift Giving Mini Album

Merry Christmas!  It's the season to give gifts and this month class at JoAnn's is just that ... a great GIFT!  It not only looks like a gift, but inside there are more gifts that can hold picture and journaling of all you favorite holiday memories.  The class will be held on Dec. 12th, 2013 from 6-9pm at JoAnn's in Cedar City.  We will be making the cover, the inside pages, and I will be showing you how to make the large bow on top, the bow on the inside, the small loopy flower, and the accordian flower.

As always, if you can't make the class, visit my website www.sharinashack.com and pick up a pattern.  You can make it whenever you can squeeze in 5 or 10 minutes of time throughout the season :) Here is the link for the Gift Giving pattern.

This album would work well for a December daily, a 12 Days of Christmas, or to hold those Elf on the Shelf pictures.  There are 24 spots for journaling tags and or photos, AND it serves as a home decor piece as well. Happy scrapping!

Expanded CD Case_NotewothySeries _Dec2013

The you tube video for this super quick, super simple mini album is now up :)   Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFzPm1m-SGY
I LOVE this album ... because in only three short pages you can show the entire holiday season.  Yes, the entire season!  How you say?  Add a couple of you favorite photos to the album and burn the rest to a CD or DVD to share with family and friends.  This album would make a great gift!

Also, this album can be created using traditional scrapbooking methods (designer paper and cardstock) and works excellent for those of you who DIGITALLY scrapbook as well.

The album here was created using my Gingerbread Collection.  To make it even easier for you to create this I've done all the work, in the Gingerbread Expanded CD Case Mini Album.  All you need do is drop your favorite pictures in and print the files. Also, you can purchase the Templates for the Expaneded CD Case and use this same idea with any paper and theme or season you desire.  This method saves time, paper, and money!

The album shown here was made using the traditional scrapbooking method.  Other great ideas for this album include: new baby, wedding, summer season, year in review, etc.

Enjoy!

Flip Flop Album (2nd video in Noteworthy Series)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNjhCMGKwBM

This album is made using every day paper bags, or lunch bags.  However, I also discuss how to alter the size of your albums to fit the paper bag size you have.  It also features a fun beaded binding, but would also work well with the Stack the Deck binding by Laura Denison.

Be sure to check out my website for new products ... a whole line of interconnected Christmas ones ... coming in a few days!  Solutions for both the traditional and digital scrapbooker.

Here are a few more sneak peaks with the Stack the Deck binding...

or with the beaded binding system shown in the video ...

My Vintage Camera and Mini Sneak Peak

This project has been sitting in my head for 6 months now ... and I finally did something about it!  It turned out better than I hoped.  I used some specialy papers from JoAnns (looks like leather), and BoBunny "Mamma Razzi" paper line for the album.  Also, it is covered, inside and out, with Tim Holtz Alterations metal gadgets.  I haven't figured out the closure for the back of the camera yet, but the mini is stored in the back.

Inside, I used the 'polaroid' and 'film strip' ideas to create the layout of the mini.  I wanted to make a mini to tell my amazing photography journey these last 4 years.  Still need to write the tutorial for these last two projects (camera and school house).  Note: my website is coming along nicely and I am ever increasingly excited for it to start!

School House Sneak Peak

This is a project I cooked up for 'back to school' time.  I used the O'Scraps "School" paper and embellishments, with a few of my own touches :) The mini goes inside the school for safe keeping.  It turned out sooo cute, I had to share a peak.

Let's Get Together

Welcome all, to the preview of the August Ladies Night at JoAnn's class.  This is the album we will be making and I have been thrilled to see so many people picking it up and looking through the album.  The class is August 15, 2013 from 6-9 pm.  Sign up at JoAnn's to save your spot!

During the class I will be teaching how to assemble the cover, the binding system, and the specifics for each page.  I will also show you a few ways to make these darling flowers that really set this album apart!

This split page assembly is a fun way to break up the routine traditional pages.

This is the album I will be making during the class ... made from the same mat stack as the first one, above.  So be sure to join me for a night of creativity and fun!
